Privacy

Pythonoid is built for children, and collects as little as possible on purpose — not as a policy statement, but because the code is actually written that way.

What is collected

• One anonymous, randomly generated ID, created automatically when you first play.
• The year you were born — just the year, never a full date. It is asked once, before anything else, and it decides one thing: whether the account is set up for an under-13 player (no email, no password, nothing else asked) or for someone 13 or older. It is kept so that this decision can be checked and corrected later, rather than silently re-guessed.
• Your progress: which levels are done, stars earned, XP, and topic mastery.
• A recovery code, generated automatically for under-13 accounts. It is shown once, right after the account is created, so it can be written down — after that it is never shown again unless you go looking for it in Settings. It exists only so progress can be restored if a device is lost, and is not derived from anything about you.
• An optional nickname, if you choose to set one in your Profile.
• Which plan the account is on (free or paid), and how it signs in — with a code, or with an email address or Google account for players 13 and over.

What is never collected

• For under-13 accounts: no name, no email address, no password, no full date of birth — nothing that could be used to contact a child or work out who they are. The birth year on its own identifies nobody.
• No home address, phone number, photograph, or location of any kind, for any account.
• No analytics software of any kind — nothing tracks what you click, how long you play, or where you came from.
• No advertising is ever shown to an under-13 account.
• Nothing is ever sold, shared, or shown to other players.

Players aged 13 and over may choose to register with an email address or a Google account. That is the only case where Pythonoid holds an email, it is used solely for signing back in, and it is never required to play.

Two things run in the background, and here they are

Pythonoid does not run analytics, but it is not the case that literally nothing else talks to anyone else's servers. In the interest of not saying "no tracking of any kind" when that would not be true, here is exactly what does:

• Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise runs in the background to tell real players apart from automated abuse of the sign-up and progress-recovery system. It runs silently — there is no puzzle to solve — but it does mean a small script from Google loads on every visit, and Google receives the technical signals (like your IP address) that a fraud-check tool needs to work. It is not used for advertising, and Pythonoid never sees or stores anything from it beyond a pass/fail answer.
• The Baloo 2 and Nunito typefaces used throughout this game are stored on Pythonoid's own servers, not fetched from Google Fonts — so loading a page does not send your IP address to Google for that purpose.

Deleting your progress

Deletion is not yet available as a button in the app — it is handled as a request rather than an instant action, so that a single accidental tap can never erase a save with no way back. If you want your progress removed, keep your recovery code from Settings and use it when you contact us. This page will be updated with a direct request path once that process is built.
